The original Heart of Texas Irrigation Systems was started back in 1994 with a man and a dream. Russell Richter(Mat’s dad) began the company on hard work, dedication, and an unyielding loyalty to serving others well. After his passing in 2018, we let the company pass along with him.

Fast forward 5 years later, and we felt the tug to start a business in Waco. After initially looking into residential property management, we both felt led to step back into the world of irrigation and begin the company once again as a family operation servicing the same lands, but with a modern approach. We left our jobs (Director of Physical Operations at DBU and 1st Grade Teacher) and moved our family to Waco in faith that we would be able to run a business together that serves the community well and honors the legacy left by ‘Ol Rosco.
